Birth Asphyxia Reductions

Released by the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2011, the purpose of this resource is to provide guidance on implementation of Helping Babies Breathe (HBB) as a program for neonatal resuscitation in low-resource settings, and as a catalyst for advancing sustainable national programs for newborn and maternal health. HBB seeks to improve and expand existing neonatal resuscitation efforts in the context of essential newborn care. HBB is designed to be integrated into existing newborn or maternal and neonatal health training, but it can be implemented as a stand-alone program, depending on national priorities.
