UNICEF, John Snow, Inc. and the UN Commission on Life-Saving Commodities just released a commodity security framework for maternal health.  The framework has been designed to highlight the key components necessary to achieving commodity security – or have the ability to choose, obtain, and use maternal health products when and where they are needed.

Countries can use this framework to identify missing or weak components at various levels and functions of their health system, and develop strategies to address them.
