The Ministry of Health and its partners directed the support that they received through the RMNCH Trust Fund to strengthen facility and community-based RMNCH services. This required building the capacity of health workers to provide CEmONC services and obstetric fistula repair services, at the grass root level. An advocacy campaign among religious leaders raised support for family planning services.

The country team invested to improve the availability of essential RMNCH equipment, supplies and drugs for strengthening universal access to quality reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health services in 21 provinces and procured ambulances to expand the referral system and reach the underserved and remote communities.

During the year, midwifery helplines were also integrated in 166 Health Information Center of the Ministry of Public Health, and funds were used to train a team of providers in India in collaboration with the National Neonatology Forum of India.
